To further support our continuously growing portfolio of activities, WAN-IFRA is looking to hire an Account Manager to join our team in Singapore

Your role will consist primarily of developing new sales leads, booking appointments with prospective clients, account management of existing customers and negotiating optimal exhibition space and sponsorship packages across our portfolio of Global, Digital and Regional Events, as well as printed and online publications.

A confident sales approach and an excellent telephone manner will be expected of you, as well as previous experience in B2B sales. An excellent command of English also is required as you will be generating business with large and international organisations worldwide. Previous experience in exhibition sales and knowledge of the publishing and IT industries will be valued.

You will fit perfectly into our team, if you
           • have excellent communication and organisational skills.
           • have a minimum of 2-5 years B2B sales experience.
           • are tenacious and self-motivated.
           • have experience in working with Salesforce and email marketing tools.
           • are strongly interested in the media industry.

           • are fluent in English. Other language skills are an asset.

Job description

  • Support a portfolio of key global and European events for news publishers from planning to delivery including
    • Study Tour programme (group visits to leading publishers worldwide)

    • Digital Media Europe

    • Newsroom Summit

    • Reader Revenue Network events in France, Spain etc

  • Assist in the creation of marketing mailings, website materials and deliver on event marketing campaigns

  • Coordinate events - e.g. venue logistics, speaker management, hotel contracts, participant outreach, expenses

  • Support event programming - finding and liaising with speakers etc

  • Support other events as required - e.g. World News Media Congress


Desired Skills and Experience

  • minimum of 3 years of experience in managing B2B events, from marketing to logistics

  • digital native with a passion for online news media

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, social competency and enthusiasm

  • proactive, result-driven, enthusiastic and able to suggest new ideas and solutions

  • fluent in spoken and written English. German or other language fluency a plus

The Membership Development Manager is key to our success and will influence all areas of our business strategy and future growth plans.

  Responsibilities   You will develop new business relationships by proactively building a solid deliverable pipeline for new business over the phone, by e-mail, local networks, and in person.  You will also develop and manage initiatives and campaigns to raise the profile and awareness of the services to potential members.   Reporting to the CEO and working closely with other departments in our main Frankfurt office and regional offices in France, India, Mexico and Singapore, you will help develop and deliver the Membership recruitment and retention plan to meet agreed annual targets.    You will:  
  • Deliver net growth in membership on an annual basis.
  • Increase the engagement with current members.
  • As the owner of the membership ‘pitch’, develop membership marketing collaterals using internal and external resources.
  • Coach staff on a member-centric approach.
  • Deliver membership pitches to senior executives.
  • Build and maintain communities of interest for our publisher members.
  • Develop and maintain conversations with our communities across channels including social media.
  • Undertake market research in areas such as member benefit analysis, as well as satisfaction and competition analyses.
  • Help to ensure our new Salesforce CRM installation and upcoming website development supports membership priorities.

WAN-IFRA is looking for a dynamic manager to develop and grow our print community of publishers, printers, and suppliers internationally.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the COO and working closely with other departments in our main office in Frankfurt am Main and regional offices in France, India, Mexico and Singapore, you will help develop and deliver the World Printers Forum development plan to meet agreed annual targets. You will:

      • Manage and develop the World Printers Forum community of WAN-IFRA members

      • Organise and manage the work of the World Printers Forum General Assembly and the Board in coordination with the Chairpersons

      • Organise and manage research and standardisation projects in agreement with the World Printers Forum Board

      • Manage and develop training and consulting projects together with partners

      • Lead the awards projects “International Color Quality Club”, “Star Club”, and “Print Innovation Awards”

      • Develop programmes for the events of the World Printers Forum and speak at industry events

      • Manage and develop the World Printers Forum website, the regular newsletter and mailings to the community

      • Work with international partner organisations of the World Printers Forum
