21.04.11 - Rooted in tradition while embracing modernity – this is the philosophy of German daily "Die Glocke". Run by four generations of the same family and still independent 131 years after its foundation by Engelbert Holterdorf, the regional newspaper regards itself as a platform for its readership at the crossing points between Münsterland and Ostwestfalen. The website www.die-glocke.de along with mobile channels keep the region up to speed with the latest issues at all times.

To keep pace with the increasing demands placed on high-quality print products and on the profitable and prompt delivery of electronic media, the Westphalian publishing company decided to introduce the integrated overall system alfa OpenMedia.

The new portal based on alfa PortalSuite is now online. The primary focus in designing the website was on the needs of readers. For example, readers can personalize the homepage to provide the latest news from their home town at a glance. Users can also post comments about the online news items, discuss them and interact with social networks. At the same time, this also simplifies the workload on the editorial department: alfa MediaSuite is used to acquire content which is then published online with a few mouse-clicks using alfa PortalSuite.
